When time ate away the world, we were nothing more than the squabbling mass of individuals when Kronos reared its head.  More and more we became became dirty lights, futile selfish sparks. The wicked outnumbered the just a thousandfold.

Those of noble mind died out like the saurian titans of prehistory while the selfish and the hateful and the ignorant bred like vermin. Their minds were crude things of self serving hypocrisy boxed by obtuseness.

The darkness was never pierced and the veil never lifted. Our kind was like a fire, as any fire we burnt all our fuel, we killed our planet. We were never more than maggots feasting on its noble body and then its corpse. During all our time we were never satiated, we never heistated to eating each other as well.

Imperfect cities reared up. Dirty needles piercing the sky, spouting death into our world for the comfort and needs of the moment. All the while we ate, slept, bought, sold, danced, laughed, cried, lived and died. Never turned our heads, never lived in wonder and never gave it a second thought. Tall towers, grim and ugly spread mindlessly.

Our children would never see the Flowers of Spring. Poets and Bards died out, they went mad for they no longer found of what beauty to write. We no longer basked in the warmth of the Sun only a sterile twilight to find our way through our depravity amongst turmoil and shadow. Childish hopes had gone forever, they never returned.

Every soul that died, rotted away as their deeds did in memory. For no one cared to remember others but themselves. The blood of the innocent flowed until innocence died. Its blood soaked Yggdrasil's roots.

The Raven gorged itself with the eyes of those who spoke out until it was fat and its belly was distended.

We were both vicious and destructive while at the same time helpless and uncaring, unaware even of the inevitability of its own doom. We bled in all the dark places and our wounds never healed.

The stygian Night swallowed us and still we did not stir from our grotesque feast. Too blind in ourselves and bloated with arrogance. Down the gullet of the Beast we went and then we turned on each other in frenzy.

The ones who had sung songs of lament since our ancestors crawled on their bellies from the primordial soup turned their eyes. Their eyes ruby from their crimson tears never to see again.

We forgot the power of technology and science. The promise of peace and understanding became a myth. What we didn't forget, because we never knew it, was the potential of our species cast away over and over during millenia. We stripped Earth of the beauty of her mantle.

We ceased to wonder, we ceased to think. We became ghouls. Our apperances matched our past actions. Our society, our world was never more than a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhed in its belly.

After what seemed like an eternity of carnage, defilement and ignorance our world died with all its twisted phantoms.

Death is nothing compared to vindication.

It needs work, well I think it does since I kind of rushed it. Leaving for the weekend. Decided to play with apocalyptic visions and symbolism.
